Joshua - Salvation Army Housing tenant
I found myself homeless after an injury that prevented me from working.
I worked all my life, then a serious back injury meant I couldn’t work at all. Not being able to secure affordable housing made my life turn dark. I started sleeping on friend's couches or slept rough and started heavy drinking to numb my pain.
The Salvos found me and offered crisis accommodation, then a short-term place within Salvation Army Housing.
A long-term housing property was then put forward, and I was accepted. I am very grateful to the Salvos team and say to them:
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You are all doing a very special job.
