Believe in good

Disability inclusion and accessibility

We believe people with disability should be able to take part fully, share their skills and lead without barriers.

We want The Salvation Army to be open to everyone.

We are working to embed the principle of “nothing about us without us.” This means people with lived experience of disability help design our services, shape decisions and lead change.

Disability Inclusion Action Plans

Work is underway to bring together existing Disability Inclusion Action Plans within the organisation to create one that spans the whole of the organisation.

This action plan will provide a framework for disability inclusion with the experiences and voices of people with disability providing the direction.

In practice, this means we are improving access to our buildings, websites and communications, working to recruit and support staff and volunteers with disability, and making our worshipping communities more inclusive.
