Our approach

The Salvation Army Alcohol and Other Drug Services’ approach to your recovery.

We can help you find a treatment option

If you are struggling with alcohol or other drugs use, we can help you find a treatment option that suits you, whether it's with us or another provider. Our number one priority is to help you on your journey to recovery.

The first step is to contact us to discuss your needs. We also invite you to get in touch with us if you don't feel comfortable organising entry into a service yet but have some questions.

How our services work

Our goal for your recovery is harm reduction. We aim to prevent and reduce harm for both people using alcohol and other drugs, and the wider community. For many people entering our services, this will mean stopping all use, for some it will mean reducing.

We provide safe, high-quality, evidence-based support that enables you to pursue fullness of life and to improve outcomes for yourself, your family and community.

We have various approaches to treatment depending on your individual needs and we aim to match people with a treatment that is right for them. Therefore, we may suggest one type of service over another.
