Trafficking and Slavery Safe House and Case Management Support.

The Salvation Army operates the Trafficking and Slavery Safe House.

This is the only refuge in Australia dedicated to housing adult survivors of all forms of modern slavery and trafficking. Established in 2008, the property accommodates adult women (cis and trans) needing secure housing and a space for recovery. The Safe House is in Sydney, New South Wales, but accepts referrals from frontline services, health services, law enforcement, community members, and individuals across Australia.

The Safe House also provides outreach support and case management to men, women and children living in the community. Clients can access our service regardless of visa status, income or engagement with authorities.

The Safe House provides flexible and comprehensive support to survivors including:

  • Outreach case management for women, men, families, and young people living in the community
  • A transitional housing program to support people accessing the private rental market
  • Australian Freedom Fund grants to assist survivors with family reunification, independent living, and essential expenses
  • Confidential advice for individuals and services about safety and support options
  • Access to health care, education, employment assistance and legal support
  • Rights education
  • International assistance
