Safeguarding at The Salvation Army

We want to keep you safe

At the Salvos we care about you. No matter your age, background, language, ability or identity - you are welcome here.

We run programs, events and services that are safe, inclusive and respectful. Keeping children and young people safe is one of the most important things we do.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding means protecting people - especially children, young people and adults who may be more vulnerable - from harm, abuse and neglect. It’s about making sure everyone can live safely, be treated fairly and feel supported. Everyone has a role to play in keeping everyone safe.

We are a Child Safe Organisation

  • This means:
  • Your safety and happiness come first
  • We treat you with kindness and respect
  • We create safe places where bad things are less likely to happen
  • We look out for signs that something might be wrong
  • We act quickly if someone is in danger
