Modern slavery statement

The Salvation Army, as both a church and a charity, has a long history in speaking about justice, compassion and other issues that support the welfare of others.

We are continuing to progress on our journey in responding to the complex issue of modern slavery, as we live our vision of seeing lives transformed with the love of Jesus.

This modern slavery statement recognises that our commitment to knowing and addressing our modern slavery risks is ongoing and will continue to be supported by programs of awareness, process improvements, and adaptability over the years to come. It is integral for The Salvation Army Australia Territory to articulate our vision of seeing lives transformed through the love of Jesus.

During the 2025 reporting period, we have continued to make significant progress in our commitment to addressing modern slavery risks, significantly improving our detection and response processes, enhancing organisational awareness of modern slavery risks, and embedding a centralised responsible sourcing approach across all sourcing and procurement activities.

This progress reflects our ongoing commitment to transparency, continuous improvement, and, importantly, to promoting ethical and responsible practices that ensure we do not cause or contribute to hardship or injustice in our procurement activities.

Modern slavery

If your freedom is limited and you are being exploited for another person’s profit, gain or advantage, you may be experiencing modern slavery.
