The precinct consists of four sites and more than 6500 personnel and is undergoing a large-scale transformation. It is a key national defence research, manufacturing and sustainment hub.
Over the past 10 years the precinct has become a major intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) hub for the Australian Defence Force with Air Warfare Centre, 92 Wing, and 1 Remote Sensor Unit located at the base. It also has a strong electronic warfare presence with Joint Electronic and 462 Squadron located at the precinct.
