Centre for Restoration

Centre for Restoration

We are here to support any person who has suffered historic child abuse within The Salvation Army in Australia, and help survivors on their journey of redress, healing and peace.

We understand that it takes significant courage for survivors of abuse to come forward and share their experiences.

If you have experienced sexual abuse, physical abuse, psychological or emotional abuse, deprivation of liberty or cultural discrimination by a representative of The Salvation Army, we encourage you to apply for financial redress and other forms of support through us, the Centre for Restoration.

When responding to complaints or allegations we are guided by the principles that everyone is entitled to:
  • Dignity and respect
  • Privacy and confidentiality
  • A fair process
  • Prompt and timely support

Restoration and redress

Restoration and redress

The Salvation Army recognises no amount of money can ever take away or change the pain of the past.

We do, however, want to provide tangible recognition of the seriousness of the harm and trauma suffered by you, the survivor, and the lifelong impact this has had.
