The Mseto Resilience WASH and Food Security Project

The Mseto Resilience WASH and Food Security Project supports communities in Kenya to improve access to food and water, financial literacy, public health and child rights. This project is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).

As a result of the training provided by the project, participants like Joseph have seen considerable improvements in their livelihoods. Prior to the project, Joseph had worked various jobs but had found it challenging to know exactly what to do with his life.

Growing produce

For the last two seasons he has grown a variety of produce including maize, beans and sweet potatoes.

This has not only enabled him to provide food for his family, but he has been able to sell the surplus to his neighbours.

This has increased his overall nutrition and food security, as well as provided him with additional income.

The project also assisted in building pit latrines in a primary school in his community. Joseph supported the project to dig the holes for the latrines and provided local materials to help build the structures. He has expressed that he is able to make better decisions on health matters since receiving training from the project.

This project is supported by the Australian Government
