With active projects throughout Africa, Asia, and the Pacific, there are endless ways that your support will be used to address the causes of poverty and injustice. Some examples are:

• Providing clean water and sanitation facilities including tanks, pumps, and toilets
• Improving living conditions by training local communities in hygiene, and disease prevention
• Giving parents tools to lift their families out of poverty by starting a small business
• Running community workshops to protect families and children from the techniques used by human traffickers

Protus' Story

Protus is one of 860 farmers supported by a Salvation Army project, which offers small scale loans, support and education to help improve food and nutrition security in three Kenyan communities. With few work opportunities, many in these remote communities are unable to meet even the most basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, health and education for their children.

In addition to learning new business skills, Protus has learned Conservation Agriculture farming methods. He grows maize and vegetables, plus owns a cow and other farm animals.
